Le 11 juin, on est arrivé tard à Montréal, mais ma fatigue a vite été remplacée par le bonheur de voir mes enfants, mon amour… et de dormir dans mon lit! Je me couche en me préparant mentalement à la semaine de fou qui m’attend.
Le manège des meetings débute dès le lendemain matin : présentation de concepts de prod; rencontre avec Claude Péloquin, le poète avec qui je compose le poème pour ma mission; suivi du projet avec toute mon équipe; etc. C’est comme une course à obstacles, où je croise d’un côté des meetings et de l’autre, des rendez-vous personnels (dentiste, ostéo, etc.)!
Le highlight : le cadeau que mon staff du siège social du CDS (Cirque du Soleil) m’a préparé pour le 25e. Ils m’ont fait revisiter mon cirque en formant une haie d’honneur sur mon passage. Ça m’a vraiment ému et fait plaisir de sentir l’appui de tous. C’était suivi d’un party où tout le staff s’en est donné à cœur joie pour festoyer (comme de vrais Circassiens)!
Le week-end, on passe à un autre genre d’action : mes petits monstres adorés, mes enfants! J’ai assisté à notre spectacle OVO et aux feux d’artifice en famille; j’ai déposé ma grande à son bal de fin d’année; j’ai assisté au spectacle de danse de mon autre fille… Enfin bref, des activités qui font du bien et qui me remplissent d’amour et de fierté.
Mon 2e highlight : mon arrêt à Gaspé. Je me sens tout de suite baigné dans l’esprit québécois; je me sens chez moi. J’ai toujours dit qu’il fallait plus de nez de clowns dans la vie et là, j’en voyais environ 1 500 tout autour de moi! Ça m’a fait chaud au cœur et ça m’a donné la chair de poule. Ils ont été vraiment super.
Le même jour (16 juin : véritable date d’anniversaire du Cirque du Soleil), je saute dans l’avion après Gaspé pour revenir au SSI (siège social international) du CDS, chausser mes échasses et participer avec ma gang au record Guinness du plus grand nombre de personnes parcourant 100 m en échasses. Comme le dit une de nos expressions québécoises : plus on est de fous, plus on rit!
Le mercredi, c’était la fête de mon amoureuse. Avec les enfants, on est allé la voir défiler au centre-ville, dans le cadre du Festival mode et design de Montréal. Qu’est-ce qu’elle est belle (entre autres choses!) et qu’est-ce que je l’aime! Ensuite, on est allé voir le show de No Doubt et on a bien profité de la soirée ensemble. J’étais heureux d’être là pour cette journée spéciale.
Jeudi, c’est mon petit moment de gars : partie de poker avec les boys! Je ne sais pas si ce sera la dernière avant de partir dans l’espace mais anyway, j’en profite! C’est l’aspect amical de « confrérie » que j’aime : pas seulement la game en tant que telle.
Le vendredi, j’ai visionné de vieux films en Super-8 avec mes parents et ma plus vieille. C’est spécial de se revoir tout petit et d’entendre tes parents te raconter les anecdotes de ton enfance. Un moment magique où je mesure la chance que j’ai de les avoir. Pendant la semaine, j’ai parlé à ma « chum » Julie Payette. Juste 1 heure après son départ annulé. Elle est vraiment superbe, cette fille-là, et généreuse de son temps et de ses conseils avec moi. Son soutien est précieux pour moi. Elle me racontait ses feelings et la joie qu’elle avait de retrouver et d'embrasser ses enfants. Je l’ai invité à venir nous retrouver avec ma famille. On a fini cette belle journée par un souper de famille.
Samedi, je suis triste de quitter mon cocon, mais heureux de repartir vers ma mission. Claudia et moi avons reçu des amis à la maison pour notre traditionnelle célébration de son anniversaire, celle de notre bébé et la fête des Pères. Les enfants adorent et ça me donnera aussi l’occasion de voir mes amis avant de partir.
Avant de partir, j’ai eu envie d’envoyer un message d’amour à mon monde, aux gens de ma province, pour les remercier de leur soutien et de leurs encouragements que j’ai reçus toute ma vie et si fortement cette semaine.
