Cinéaste et écrivain, il exprimait dans ses films et ses écrits toute la révolte qui l’animait. Grossier et manichéen pour certains, inspirant et courageux pour d’autres : Pierre Falardeau ne laissait personne indifférent. Avec le personnage Elvis Gratton qui s’est inscrit en force dans la culture populaire québécoise, avec toute l’attention que lui portaient les médias, Falardeau était devenu une des personnalités publiques québécoises des plus singulières et des plus écoutées, figure de proue du mouvement séparatiste.
